Coppe Gelato - A Taste of Summer Memories

When I think of the Italian summers of my childhood, I remember giant Coppe Gelato: oversized glass bowls filled with gelato, whipped cream, wafers, syrups, and the little decorations we eagerly waited for: palm trees, paper umbrellas, and metallic stars.

Inspired by those late '80s and '90s summers, I created a series of three illustrations, each dedicated to a beloved gelateria in my seaside hometown: Camplone, Zanzibar, and Iceberg.

These places marked different moments of my life, from childhood evenings with my family to my first nights out with friends. Some are still there, others have disappeared, but each one remains part of my memories.

Through these elaborate, almost theatrical ice cream bowls, I wanted to preserve something that time cannot bring back: the simple happiness, warmth, and endless feeling of summer.
