“Sara Passamonti transforms real life into something brighter, stranger, and more powerful.

Her illustrations often draw on lived experiences: Italian culture, childhood memories, the places she’s lived, songs, landscapes, everyday gestures. Then, through bold colors and surreal proportions, reality becomes a visual world that revolves around her feminine universe of strong, playful, oversized, and impossible-to-ignore women.
They take up space, literally and symbolically.

Behind the joyful energy of her images lies a deeper purpose: to speak about women, freedom, rights, and the roles society still tries to assign.

This is what makes her work so magnetic: at first glance, it seems light, but it contains a very real strength.
