This illustration was my entry for a competition by Vino Vero, exploring Venice through the feeling of a slow, sun-filled moment, the same feeling behind writing a postcard to someone you love.
The illustration brings together some iconic elements of the city: water and its reflections, a typical bacaro (Venetian Wine Bar) awning, and the red and white paline framing a quiet moment in the sun, with a glass of white, rosé, or red wine.
The woman, a recurring presence in my work, wears a striped T-shirt inspired by the traditional clothing of Venetian gondoliers.
A visual toast to slowness, pleasure, and the distinctive light of Venice. A moment where time seems to pause, leaving space for contemplation and taste.
